The Waun Wyllt Inn was built in the eighteenth century and is an impressive structure set in 2 acres of Carmarthenshire countryside.
The term “Waun Wyllt” means the “Wild Moor” or “Wild Meadow”, which is derived from its location nestled in the Sylen hills to the north of Llanelli.
In the years past, one can imagine the many, many weary travellers and locals who sought food, drink and shelter in the homely surroundings of the Waun Wyllt pub!! Come rain or shine, traveller, local or walker, the Waun Wyllt is a destination pub of charm and character where a warm welcome comes for free.
The Waun Wyllt Inn has been a family run business for many, many years and most recently was owned by the Pawson family.
However, in December 2005, the pub business was purchased by the “Great Old Inns” pub group who immediately set about a detailed schedule of substantial improvements.
